One day, we just got frustrated! Making cocktails at home took more time than drinking them - and the pleasure was all in the drinking! How could we make the creation process just as enjoyable as the consumption?!
First of all, we needed to capture the taste of fresh fruit - without the peeling and slicing and blending! Then we needed to minimise the amount of different types of spirits required to construct each cocktail - who ever uses the half empty bottle of Grand Marnier or apple brandy that you bought last time you had a cocktail party? They just sit, somewhat expensively, in your booze cupboard, gathering dust (well, at least ours did!).
Then there's the difficulty of making the perfect frozen cocktail... blending ice in a blender with that awful noise (as your guests are trying to enjoy themselves!)... unless you go the expensive route of hiring a slushie machine (which is no use when it's a small intimate gathering!).
So, we decided to create the perfect cocktail bases for you - all you need to do is simply add your favourite spirit! We started with our Urban Thirst slush mixes (well, summer was coming up and we love Margaritas!). After much product testing (a great sacrifice!), we came up with 3 cocktail bases - including real fruit or fruit juice to make sure you got the best flavour possible! Then we packaged it into a handy bucket - easy to stand in the freezer, easy to take with you to parties and easy to scoop your frozen cocktail from...
We launched this range in 2003 - and, thanks to your support, haven't looked back since. You guys have inspired us to create more delicious flavours - and we've even started designing some funky accessories to make your cocktail drinking even more enjoyable!
So who are we? We're a family with a passion for great food and fantastic drinks - and we know what its like to have too much to do and too little time to do it in.
