This weekend is going to be huge at the Good Food & Wine Show at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre! We're exhibiting at the Good Food & Wine Show this weekend in Melbourne. Come by stand E23 and taste some cocktails with us...we'd love to see you and show you all the range of mixes that we have. I don't know about you, but I am spending a lot more time at home entertaining now, and grabbing a bucket from the freezer makes life just a little easier...and a lot more delicious!

Thanks for coming by and visiting us at the Brisbane Good Food and Wine show at the beginning of the month! It was a lot of fun - I love catching up with you guys in person! I always get blown away by how passionate you are about our cocktail mixes, and it makes me feel very humble and grateful that we have such fans out there. Thanks for all your great feedback back in the beginning of the year, when we did our Summer Survey and asked your opinion on new flavours, we have created the yummy Caipiroska Slush mix and the tropical Mai Tai Slush mix, plus two stylish gift boxes containing Peach Bellini Mix and/or Pear Bellini Mix - perfect for your champagne cocktails!

Wow, time has flown and I must apologise for not writing earlier. Christmas and New Year is always busy for us - you guys just can't get enough of the cocktails then it seems! We've had a great start to the year, you may have seen our cooler bags appear in the NW magazine and a small article in Who magazine. We're also running a great competition with OK! Magazine at the moment, so make sure you check that out!
Thanks to everyone who participated in our Summer Survey - I now have the tough job of product development and testing new flavours for release later this year. You can rest assured that I take this job very seriously!
It seems as if cocktails are suddenly become the drink of the decade - of course, we all knew they would! One leading hotel has launched a mix-your-own cocktail bar - you get to create your own cocktail, kinda like a sandwich bar! Our philosophy is pretty much opposite - all that mixing and muddling choice gets confusing, if all you want is a great cocktail! We like to keep things simple, just offering you the best mixes we can create. And it seems that you like it this way, right?!

Congratulations to Natasha Ayesh for her creation of an Urban Thirst racing hat for our Fashion in the Field competition! It was a tough decision, but the judges thought Natasha's hat was fabulous - just like all you Urban Thirst fans out there! It's Racing Carnival time, and to celebrate the perfect place to drink Urban Thirst at, we've got a competition running!
"Fashion in the Field" - take an old Urban Thirst bucket and turn it into the fanciest race day hat you can! Send photos of your creations to me at kate@urbanthirst.com
All entries must be received by Fri 9th of November.
The winner of the competition will receive an Urban Thirst Party Pack (cooler bag, picnic rug, glasses and slushie)!
Competition open to Australia and New Zealand residents only. Judges are me, my mum and Jeff who runs our office and has lots of fashion indutry experience! Our decision is final and all competitors agree to our use of photo and name for publicity purposes! We look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Hey if you're in Sydney this weekend, how better to avoid the APEC stress and traffic? Just grab a couple of buckets and pop them in the freezer Thursday night, then bunker down with a few friends and relax!

I always feel really humble when I hear how you support us so much, and enjoy our cocktails. Thank you for this support - it means a lot to us. Winter officially arrived in Australia on the 1st of June and I can tell you, it sure felt that way in Melbourne! June brings the Good Food Shows to Melbourne (1-3 June, at the MCEC, Southbank) and Sydney (15-17 June, at the SCEC, Darling Harbour) - a great day out when you can taste lots of yummy things, including (of course) our delicious cocktail mixes! Congratulations to Amanda Philp who entered our Mother's Day Choctini competition, winning a Choctini Pack for her mum, Diane Ball, who lives in Broken Hill. I hear it gets quite hot out there, so no doubt the Choctini will go down well! The Daily Telegraph has just suggested that drinking strawberry daiquiris is good for your health - and we aren't inclined to disagree! Scientists have discovered that the combination of berries and alcohol enhances the berries' ability to to mop up harmful molecules linked to cancer, heart disease and arthritis. For the full article, click here. With real strawberries in our Strawberry Daiquiri Mix,you could almost call it the perfect medicine! I suspect, though, that you guys already know that - seeing as Strawberry Daiquiri is our biggest seller!

Wow, sorry its been so long since I last wrote! I can't believe its March tomorrow. We just launched our new Choctini Mix and Chocolate Rimming Sugar over the weekend and had a great response! Everyone loved it - its going to be the hit drink for winter I hope. Check it out on our cocktails page and also the yummy recipes here.
The Choctini will be instore by mid-March so make sure you ask your local stockist for it!

We were very excited to spot a bucket of Strawberry Daiquiri on its way to the Robbie Williams concert in December! I snapped this from the back seat of my taxi - the lucky guy holding the bucket sure has his entertainment priorities right....it was a great night! If you happen to be him, or know him, please email me on kate@urbanthirst.com and I will give him an Urban Thirst cooler bag to keep his cocktails in!

Well, the big news is that we've just launched our new website! Which of course you will have discovered if you've visited www.urbanthirst.com before. If you haven't - welcome!

Other than that, there's not much else that's news at the moment... let's think - we won a great award earlier in the year - Best Gift in the Australian Gift Industry, so if you haven't bought all your pressies for Christmas (or Chanukah or any other festive occasion), maybe an Urban Thirst cocktail would go down well.
